Today, in a first-ever joint statement of this kind, more than thirty Nobel Peace Prize winners are calling for urgent action to implement quality education and build peace in conflict-affected countries.
This initiative comes at a time when millions of children continue to be denied education because of war. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, even before the recent outbreak of fighting, every second child did not have access to education.
